The markets are a fun way to get to know the gastronomy and the way of life of a place. It is the weekly appointment to do the shopping and excuse for the meeting between neighbors. The streets are transformed with the colorful stalls and the bustle of people strolling and shopping. You can find everything from fruits and vegetables to cheeses, sausages, antiques, clothes, shoes or flowers.

There are 4 markets in the region from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

• Unquera:  every Wednesday
• Comillas: every friday
• Cabezón de la Sal: every Saturday
• San Vicente de la Barquera: every Saturday

They take advantage of "coming to the market" to "drink 11 o'clock or take the white", as it is called to alternate drinking a wine, must or a beer accompanied by some squid rings. Live social life!
